Soil Treatment Facility.

The newly opened Bradley Park in Huddersfield now offers a cutting-edge facility for the treatment of contaminated soil. Situated near junction 25 of the M62, it provides convenient access for projects in Yorkshire and Manchester.

Our soil treatment process offers a cost-effective solution to your disposal needs by eliminating landfill tax for every ton of waste. It's worth noting that landfill tax rates increase annually, and the current rate has exceeded £100.00. This translates to significant savings on any project.

Soil treatment involves the decomposition process, commonly referred to as composting. The facility accepts naturally occurring soils contaminated with hydrocarbons, including spills from vehicle impacts, wind turbine gearbox failures, and other hydrocarbon-contaminated soils.

To facilitate decomposition, the material is combined with Post PAS 100 treated compost, which contains naturally occurring bacteria that break down the oils into byproducts such as CO2 and water. Regular sampling and analysis are conducted to determine the necessary duration for the material to remain on the pad, ensuring that once fully processed, it can be classified as non-hazardous.

Once classified as non-hazardous, the processed material transitions from waste to a product resulting from our process. It can then be utilized on-site for cover, reinstatement, or capping purposes. This distinction allows customers to legitimately claim that the waste has not been disposed of in a landfill but has instead been processed and reused, qualifying for nil to landfill status.
